E3 International has successfully completed a feasibility study for the conversion of Unit 3 at the Tuzla Thermal Power Plant from coal to sustainably sourced biomass. Commissioned under an EBRD-supported initiative, the study outlines a technically and economically viable pathway for repurposing the existing infrastructure to use local biomass resources such as fast-growing willow and wood waste. The proposed solution supports Bosnia and Herzegovina’s energy transition goals, aligning with EU climate policies and the Paris Agreement while strengthening energy security and creating rural economic opportunities.
